The first Star Wars book I bought, and still my favorite. Kuralyov 03:41, 11 Jul 2005 (UTC)
Errors
Edit
Is it worth mentioning some of the errors in the book- notably the 8000m Executor length, and the transposition of Victory- and Imperial- class SD sketches and diagrams. MartinMcCann 16:58, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
- I honestly think there needs to be a separate section nitpicking everything in this book that contradicts film footage. 12seraph 00:18, November 17, 2011 (UTC)
- That would fall under Trivia, and would be inappropriate. GethralkinHyperwave 10:29, November 18, 2011 (UTC)
Can't see errors
Edit
Is there a newer edition or something? I'm looking through my book right now and I don't see anything wrong with the pics of the ISD (p80-81) and the Vic (p189). I think the comment about the transposed pictures should be changed.
- Mine doesn't have the error either, although my Diplomat's Entry Exam book (the trivia book from the mid-90s) transposed the images. Maybe that's what they were referring to? Does someone have a scanned image of a transposed picture (ie something that does the pic of an ISD with the title VSD or vice-versa? Taral, Dark Lord of the Sith 12:42, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
- I don't know about the ISD/VSD error but a lot of the blueprint images are just plain wrong, although they seem fine at first glance. Just from memory I know that at least the A-wing (engines too long), Y-wing (engines too narrow, and too low compared to cockpit) and ISD (angle of the bridge structure too steep) aren't right. And these are all craft from the original movies! A shame that the artists didn't take a good look at the actual studio models when making this book. Especially since a lot of newer publications (video games!) used this book as a (faulty) reference. And I'm not even talking about the notorious size-issues here! --BaldFett 22:24, April 3, 2011 (UTC)
- If these drawings and figures are so erroneous, why are they even included in the articles? Get rid of them all! —Unsigned comment by 12seraph (talk • contribs). 00:17, November 17, 2011 (UTC)
- It would be inappropriate to remove sourced material from articles. Also, please remember to sign any comments you make with four tildes (~~~~). GethralkinHyperwave 10:33, November 18, 2011 (UTC)
