Timeline placementEdit

Anybody know when this story is set? It's certainly after Ozzel and Needa's deaths (3 ABY) and it's implied the Emperor is still alive (4 ABY [10ABY?]) but it's not clear. Vetinari^{(Appointment)} 02:22, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

Possible InspirationEdit

I recently did a research project on 19th century American author Ambrose Bierce. "The Longest Fall" appears to me to have been largely inspired by Bierce's "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge". Thoughts, anyone?67.142.130.29 20:29, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
