Talk:Toscan 8-Q starfighter
Back to page
Does anyone know if this is supposed to be the same Toscan fighter as seen in X-Wing Alliance? That fighter looks like a Y-Wing relative as described here, but it has about three times the laser armament listed here and it doesn't have "8-Q" in the craft library description.
I just want to get these straight, as I'm about to start posting improved pictures of the various ships seen in XWA but I don't want to put the XWA Toscan here if it doesn't belong. —Darth Culator 22:14, 26 Sep 2005 (UTC)
- I myself don't have X-Wing Alliance, but I believe that the Toscan 8-Q is the fighter that is in the game. It has a forward section similiar to that of a Y-wing. I'll try to find a good picture of it. Cmdr. J. Nebulax 22:54, 26 Sep 2005 (UTC)
- If they are the same, then there are some continuity issues that have to be hammered out, because from what I've read online, the XWA Toscans are sturdier than an X-Wing, and have shields; these have the same hull code as a TIE Fighter, and are similarly shieldless. However, the silhouette in Pirates & Privateers *is* consistent with the XWA hullform I've seen online, as far as I can tell. jSarek 01:33, 27 Sep 2005 (UTC)
- The ships do indeed look identical as far as I can tell, and the XWA game designers probably intended their Toscan to be the one from Pirates & Privateers. Does anyone remember if the Toscan appeared in more than one XWA mission? If not -- or if they were always flown by the same faction -- we could just say that the XWA Toscans might simply represent a heavily modified variant. Sionay 19:18, 15 Jan 2007 (UTC)

Droid socket?
Edit
Anyone know if that is a droid socket behind the cockpit? Nothing in the article says either way.Tocneppil 07:47, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
Toscan vs. Tocsan
Edit
I posted this earlier on Talk:Tocsan 8-Q starfighter, but since no one replied, I'll try posting it here: Isn't this the same as the Tocsan 8-Q starfighter? If so, which is the proper spelling: Toscan, or Tocsan? Grand Moff Tranner (My personal comlink) 22:02, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
They are one and the same. I made a correction in "Behind the Scenes" - which mistakenly stated that Pirates & Privateers spelled it as Tocsan. FleetAdmiralTaylor 19:58, 3 November 2011 (UTC)
