[edit] Purse worlds
- The Neimoidian purse worlds didn't have any hive or fungus farms (The EpI VD mentioned only Neimoidia, the homeworld). So don't change it. I think that Cato Neimoidian was only for the wealthiest Neimoidians, so no farms there. Gwai Lo 01:59, 25 Sep 2005 (UTC)
- The hives and fungus farms of Cato Neimoidia are shown in Labyrinth of Evil. Remember, a world is a big place.-LtNOWIS 03:40, 25 Sep 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Other associations.
We actually should have some of the ground units and support craft and such used by the Trade Federation under the Associations section. That way, it can show what kind of other vehicles and such were used. And as I add those things, I'll only add what the Trade Federation used, not anything else. Cmdr. J. [edit] Emblem
Where did this emblem come from, it appears VERY non-canon it has a "TF" symbol, not in Aurabesh.
- Well, the symbol's on a pillowcase, that's for sure. Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- English text appears occasionally, like in the CEC logo. -LtNOWIS 16:12, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
- And, of course, the fact that A-wings, E-wings, X-wings, and Y-wings look like the Arabic letters A, E, X, and Y. Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- I found this emblem which is on a Trade Federation tank unit, the place I found it said that they believed it was the emblem of the TF. If not, it is at least the symbol of the tank unit. Here it is

- Where did you get this image from? Episode I? Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
23:04, 15 May 2006 (UTC)
- I got it from this site which has recently closed down http://www.ankarsten.com/ccccd/symbols/. I found it in a search for the Black Sun emblem by accident. I copied it and inversed the white and the black as I did with the Black Sun emblem I got. You can still find the Black Sun logo and Jedi Starfighter logo from the site by searching on Goodle, but accessing the site doesn't work. Personally, I am not sure if it is on the tanks in actuality, I'd have to search EP 1 for that, If another source can be found, I could prove whether this emblem is just an anonymous fan-made image.
- It probably is fan-made. We already have the symbol for the Trade Federation; I don't think they would have another. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

[edit] What happened to the Trade Federation's navy and other forces?
Did the Empire destroy the Trade Federation's ships and equipment. The British did that to the German Navy in 1919 and the Americans destroyed all Japanese military equipment in 1945 and 1946. Or were the TF and other CIS ships put into Imperial service.
- All CIS assets were absorbed into the Empire and the companies that supported it. Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
19:08, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
So the CIS fleet became part of the Imperial Fleet until, I suppose they were outdated and replaced. If that's right, I think "affiliations" section Confederacy ships and military should all have "Galactic Empire" added there as well to represent the turnover of assets. What do you think?
- I would refrain from doing that unless we have some official word one way or the other. I doubt they'd fly CIS vessels, for logistical and political reasons. -LtNOWIS 03:23, 4 May 2006 (UTC)
- Well, like I said, CIS assets were absorbed into Palpatine-supporting companies. Those companies probably got the CIS capital ships. Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

The novel Rogue Planet set 3 years after TPM states that Palpatine "finally forced a stand down over the Naboo incident. The Trade Federation securtiy forces will soon be disbanded. In the next few months they are to be assimilated into Republic forces and placed at the disposal of the senate." (p. 34) From memory, the book has other mentions of this assimilation. Does this have any relevance to the above discussion? INdeed, is this mentioned anywhere in wookieepedia? There only seems to be mention of the forces being absorbed later into the empire.--Merbabu 13:28, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
- First: Please don't restart old topics. Second: You're talking about something that happened in 29 BBY. That's ten years before the Empire rose to power. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
20:08, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, that is exactly my point - it refers to assimilation into the Republic not the Empire, which as you point out was 10 years later. I think you misunderstood my post. --Merbabu 02:26, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
- No, you misunderstood my post—this topic talks about how the Trade Federation's forces were absorbed into the Empire after the Clone Wars. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- Give me a break, please? Why can't you just answer the question - or if you don't know, just say so (no shame in that, surely??). It is fairly simple. Or, if you cannot answer unless i jump through certain hoops or speak the magic password can you (or someone less difficult) please exaplain what I need to do. Make it simple, i am clearly very stupid. Does anyone have an opinion on the novel Rogue Planet's description (above in italics) of the Trade Federation's Fleet assimilation into the REPUBLIC forces?. Please tell me you are not refusing to discuss this simply cos you think I put my question under an inappropriate heading. I hope that is not the case. --Merbabu 14:05, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for setting us on to that information. It should obviously be added into the article. However, to answer your question, it seems that the Trade Federation was able to stall the disbanding of their military while Nute Gunray stood trial. Either that or their forces were disbanded and assimilated only to be recreated when the Trade Federation joined the CIS. Cull Tremayne 14:57, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
- And Jack, how 'bout cutting this user some slack, the title does say What happened to the Trade Federation's navy and other forces?, and his question was entirely within those bounds. Also note that he stated Does this have any relevance to the above discussion? Since when is there a rule about not restarting old topics? Especially if the User has something more to add to the discussion like what happened here. If you thought that the question had no relevance to this topic, then say so. Cull Tremayne 15:03, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
- Apparently everyone still misunderstands what I meant. I simply said that this topic was about the Trade Federation's forces being absorbed into the Empire; I thought that Merbabu was referring to that while mistaking it with the 29 BBY event. Now that I know Merbabu's question was on another topic, I can say that the forces weren't disbanded. And Cull, I was taught from the beginning not to restart old topics. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
21:52, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
- thanks to both for your responses. (I did actually state when the novel was set in my 1st question). Cull, i think the stalling you mention might be the answer but i will go thru the novel again to see if i can find more that can be added to the article. Without wanting to offend anyone, i think the history section is a bit unlcear and needs some work. But, it's all about finding the time, right? thanks again fellas. Next time I will start under a new heading if it is a new topic. --Merbabu 03:06, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Real world similarities
In the real world, I believe that the Trade Federation's organizational structure is much like Yugoslavia's in the late 80s to the 90s. In the 80s Yugoslavia was run by multiple leaders much like the TF directorate, however, like Nemoidia, Serbian President Slobodon Milosevic wanted more Serbian dominance, after civil war and many countries breaking off, Milosevic then had a free ride to power and became the single President of Yugoslavia. Milosevic's Yugoslavia was essentially a Serbian state with Montenegro serving as Serbia's access to the ocean. The Nemoidians destroyed the directorate and established Nemoidian dominance over the Trade Federation. As for the invasion of Naboo, this was a copy of the first Gulf War in which Iraq invaded and annexed Kuwait to regain money lost in the Iran-Iraq war. The Trade Federation had a similar problem with losing money, but in this case with taxation.

[edit] Update with new information
Perhaps, one should add some information about Trade federation's role in the Huk war? It's connections with yam'rii and so on?
Also in "Living Force Campaign Guide" is said that (according to Nathan Butler timeline) that "In light of the Trade Federation’s leaders, the Neimoidians, intending the risky blockade of Naboo, two other Trade Federation species, the Filordi and Caarites, break from the Trade Federation and form the Metatheran Cartel and begin to expose Neimoidian policies in the Cularin system. They begin to replace the Trade Federation as the major economic power in the system, while the Trade Federation can only counter by hiring pirate bands to harass the Cartel." May be it is also to be added?--Tamarrion 13:36, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
- Definitely. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. —Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
