Talk:Trench Run Defense
Back to page
No such thing. There is, however, a tactic used against capital ships called Trench Run Defense. [1] --Imp 22:13, 26 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Wasn't Trench Run disease in the Rogue Squadron books? I distinctly remember this phrase. In any case this article should be reworded to note that it's slang (and added to the glossery of terms). -- Falmarin 22:38, 26 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- It was. I took their use of "Trench Run disease" as a cautious avoidance by the Imperials of a Trench Run attack. -Finlayson 18:36, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
Merge?
Edit
Why merge? This is a slang expression. There's even a category that justifies the existence of this article. KEJ 07:11, 25 April 2006 (UTC)
- Because the Trench Run Disease article is a separate page. Thanos6 07:18, 25 April 2006 (UTC)
- Well, I was actually referring to that article, not this one - my bad. So I reformulate. Why merge? 'Trench run desease' is a slang expression. There's even a category that justifies it's existence - namely, the slang category. KEJ 07:29, 25 April 2006 (UTC)
- Because the slang expression is mentioned here; and because the talk page for one redirects to the other. Thanos6 11:25, 25 April 2006 (UTC)
- Then I'd take the opposite stand and argue that the reference to the slang expression should be removed from this article and, if possible, the 'trench run disease' article should be expanded. KEJ 12:10, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

Video game appearances
Edit
Should video games that make use of this tactic be listed as appearances? Because I recognize these tactics from certain games (though the tactic isn't named, merely used) and they aren't in the Appearances list. I'm thinking specifically of Star Wars: Rebel Assault, in Level 4, when you destroy the ISD, the tactic used involves skimming the trench along the side of the ISD, making a quick pass at the shield generators, and returning along the other side's trench. Other video games that let you play the Battle of Yavin would count too. Thoughts? Taral, Dark Lord of the Sith -Just shy, not antisocial: You can talk to me!- 16:33, October 29, 2010 (UTC)
