Talk:Ung Kusp

Back to page

It's possible that Ung Kusp was Mandalore, but since it's never explictly stated, I decided not to add it. QuentinGeorge 03:30, 23 Jul 2005 (UTC)

The term "Mandalorian Mercs" is not nonsense. Is it inaccurate, though? --SparqMan 03:23, 24 Jul 2005 (UTC)

It's nonsense in the sense that it wasn't what they called themselves, merely a pejorative that other Mandalorians gave them. Besides "Mercs" is slang for "Mercenaries", and not really encyclopedic. QuentinGeorge 04:02, 24 Jul 2005 (UTC)
The term, complete with abbreviation and capitalization, was established in the Mandalorian history article in Insider #80. Seems like a proper title to me, although I'm not sure if he fits into their group. --SparqMan 04:11, 24 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Well according to Visionaries he was indeed a Mandalore. In the comic the scientist says to Durge,"Take the battle to Mandalore," and the context points ot Kusp. That's if you've read the story.

Also the term Mandalorian Merc is what the Article calls them. And it is accurate concidering they were indeed mercs at this time. It might help seperate the Mandalorian types for those reading. Thus people will understand what Mandalorians were during each time like, Crusader, Merc, or Protector.--Darth Nuke 04:34, 3 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Dating? Edit

What is the source for Ung Kusp's term as Mandalore? From the comic, I took it to be earlier than 1,000 BBY. In fact, since the doctor seemed to have started his Mando vs. Sith war, I took it to be around the time of the Dark Underlord's reign of Dark Lord of the Sith, since we know that the Sith and the Mandalorians fought then. No way. It had to have occurred much closer to the Mandalorian Civil War- the Mandalorians in the comic wear Jango-Fett-style helmets, not the much older ones of that period. In fact, it must have occurred closer to the time when Durge assassinated a murdered Mandalore- hmmmm. I wonder who it could be? --Thetoastman 21:46, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

  • Absolutely unfounded. Mandalorians are wearing the Jango-style armor in the New Sith Wars. Don't believe me? Check the armor on the corpses Bane wakes up in in Jedi vs. Sith. QuentinGeorge 06:29, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
    • Ah, okay then, you're right. But regardless, any sort of timeline placement for this remains pure speculation, and should not be included in the main section of the article. --Thetoastman 09:12, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
      • Well to be clear, the mandalaorian armor in the picture of the campaign against the dark underlord is NOT jango fett style armor.
