"after the Unification Wars of 3817" acc. to The Book of Imperial Shuttle Plans. I take 3817 to mean 3817 years after the Republic's foundation in 25000 BBY, so the Wars ended 21183 BBY.
They must have started much earlier, since Arden Lyn/Xendor fought in them much closer to 25000 BBY.
I suppose we should not overlook the plural "Wars"--possibly a group term for a series of wars covering about 3800 years. Compare the 1000 years of the New Sith Wars.
- I'm going to remove that, as "The Unification Wars of 3817" seem to come from Book of Imperial Shuttle Plans: Cygnus Spaceworks. Unless it's in The New Essential Chronology too. — Silly Dan 02:59, 29 Nov 2005 (UTC)
- It most certainly is not. The only Unification Wars in the book are the Koros ones. In fact, I'm fairly certain that the Unification Wars cannot be found in any official source--this article should be removed. TalonCard 07:12, 10 February 2006 (UTC)
- Found it in the ROTS crossections book. QuentinGeorge 06:42, 18 February 2006 (UTC)
- Can anyone confirm whether the references cited before RotS:ICS use the term "Unification Wars"? if not, what do they say? And what's the specific reference in RotS:ICS itself? Thanks! --McEwok 18:55, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
- Why so interested in knowing if any author prior to Saxton used the term? I wish all SW authors would get the same indepth scrutiny from you, since you seem damn-near obsessed with "exposing" him with whatever it is you're looking for. VT-16 09:13, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
Sio Bibble quote[]
Isn't the Sio Bibble quote out of place here? I was under the impression the Ruusan Reformations were created with this and Palpatine's statement concerning the age of the Republic in mind. Considering that there have been many full-scale wars since the original formation of the Republic, Bibble is obviously referring to the Ruusan Reformation in this quote. - Good point. It's gone. Dangerdan97 19:47, October 15, 2010 (UTC)
I am curious to know exactly what happened in these Wars... They seem to have ended with all factions joining together (or at least some segment did), but how did this come about?
Expansion[]
This article is a little limited... shouldn't it also include all information known about this time period--such as who the Core Founders were, Rana Mas Trehalt, Founding Shipwrights, etc? I really don't think it provides as much information as it should. 108.56.196.116 21:55, June 22, 2013 (UTC)
Reduction[]
What caused the page to be cut so short? It seemed in good shape...173.79.239.142 18:38, December 22, 2013 (UTC)
Other campaigns[]
The Essential Guide to Warfare refers to "Unification Campaigns of the 900s BBY" which seems to have been part of the Unification Policies. I wonder if the references to the Unification Wars taking place 1,000 years ago would actually be confusing the wars to the Campaigns--both of which would have 'founded' the Republic. 108.28.49.254 02:06, March 4, 2014 (UTC)
Quotes[]
I am about to nominate the Unification Wars as a good article, but I require some quotes to go with it about the founding of the Republic. Any assistance in finding some would be much obliged.--Jace Onasi (talk) 09:16, December 16, 2016 (UTC)
A space war without hyperdrives?[]
Apparently less than 150 years passed between Coruscant being freed from the Rakatan rule and the unification wars ending, which resulted in the formation of the Republic. I'm not sure how this is possible, considering that we know that in 25,200 BBY they still used a sleeping ship technology. It is implied that Corellians and Duros were the first to develop the Hyperdrive technology, but before the hyperdrives themselves they supposedly developed hyperspace cannons first, and building that network supposedly took "many centuries". Does that mean the unification wars used these cannons instead of the hyperdrives? But the process of building the cannon network, and the unification of founding members both sound like something much more likely to be achieved through cooperation rather than warfare. Plus if hyperspace travel were used in warfare before becoming widespread, it would give Corellians and Duros an insurmountable advantage. How did Coruscant become a capitol then? All of this makes me believe that the most likely options are either these wars supposedly being waged through old sleeping ship technology (with key battles taking place decades apart?), or these wars not being canon at all (in terms of old "legends" canon, of course). Any thoughts?
