Article titleEdit

If you want to move it again, talk about it here. Havac 22:00, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

  • We traditionally use occupation titles or species to differentiate between character articles that share a name. So let's move it back, eh? --Imperialles 22:10, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
    • I thought the article title was supposed to be the name the individual was best known by. He may have been born Valin Horn, but his entire life he was know as Hal Horn. It was his "legal name", if you were, once his step-father adopted him. I see no reason why the article shouldn't be Hal Horn. - JMAS 13:24, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
      • It wasn't his legal name. It was his nickname. Read The Krytos Trap. Havac 02:38, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
  • Yeah, this name really isn't working. What shall it be, [[Hal Horn]] or [[Valin "Hal" Horn]]? Keep in mind that the article title is not a birth certificate; it's simply an identifier for the subject. Generally, it should reflect the name a person is best known by, and I fail to see how that is anything but "Hal Horn" here. -- Ozzel 22:18, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
    • Since having at Hal Horn would be a gross violation of policy, I'm pretty sure that's off the table. Generally, my philosophy is that the article should be at the person's name, with disambiguation attached as needed. It shouldn't be at the name and nickname all jammed together. I'll accept Valin "Hal" Horn if that's what a vote comes to, but I maintain that that's a sloppy, poor-precedent-setting way to do it. But Hal Horn is flat out. Havac 02:44, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

timeline problems Edit

If Valin "Hal" Horn was 10 years old when his father left for the clone wars in 22 bby how would he have had a son in 18 bby that's only 4 years. so hes 14 and spent 2 years in cor-sec academy age 10-12? then got married at what 13 then a child at 14? not likely! another problem I jedi pg 67 says his father died right after the clone wars I was all of 10 years old (which ended in 19 bby at or near the formation of the empire.) when he was 10 and that would have been 19.5 bby which is correct? if stackpole had only changed it to say he died during the Pre-clone wars time after naboo he would be a little older by the time his son was born and time-line would have fitted better?

This happens alot with correllians, personally i would say that the correllian year is likely one half again as long as a standard year. But we cannot know that for certain can we. But also keep in mind that younger people in this world have had children, and just because it is widely considered taboo does not mean it is impossible (its still squicky though) ralok 07:08, September 25, 2010 (UTC)

Article titleEdit

It seems to be in violation of current policy. Shouldn't it simply be at "Valin Horn"—with the ("Hal") dropped? It looks silly and that's violating other precedents. I would make the move myself but its an FA so I would rather get an okay before doing so. Darth Trayus(Trayus Academy) 08:40, November 7, 2011 (UTC)
