Vengeance[]

Is there any reason to think that this class isn't just further production of Jerec's Vengeance? jSarek 20:12, April 29, 2012 (UTC)

  • I believe it is, and would be shocked if it wasn't meant to be a reference to Jerec's Vengeance, but since it has been explicitly stated, it can't be mentioned. Just like we can't name all of the Kuati Star Dreadnoughts and Star Battlecruisers from EGtW with their proper Kuati designations, because they were only named with the Anaxes War College System. • I can confirm from a response by Paul Urquhart a.k.a. Thrawn McEwok in the EGtW thread on TheForce.Net, that the Vengeance-class Star Dreadnought, what I am sure is the official Kuati designation, is intended to be a reference to Jerec's Vengeance. Hopefully, there will be online supplements similar to The Essential Atlas and its online companion that clear up the implied things like this. • I think, between the name of the class; the known fact that the Vengeance was the first of her kind, and thus any ships built on that same plan could properly be called Vengeance-class; the fact that the one known ship is called the Javelin, which matches the spear-like shape of the Vengeance; the presence of several remarkably similarly shaped ships in Star Wars: Dark Empire (depicted currently at the bottom of the Vengeance article) which meet the timeframe of the class's big moment in The Essential Guide to Warfare; and McEwok's note explicitly establishing authorial intent; we probably have enough to pass the Duck Test. jSarek 03:37, May 1, 2012 (UTC)
