Lasers

How can a ship so small have heavy turbo lasers
- It's simply in-game mechanics, I suppose. Admiral J. Nebulax (talk) 00:13, 15 March 2006 (UTC)
- If you look at the turbolasers in the game, they're no different than the turbolasers used on the Death Star. I suppose that I agree it is a heavy turbolaser. User: Super Destroyer 92
- Perhaps the designers only got a good look at the XX-9 turbolasers (those on the Death Stars) and thought that's what all turbolasers look like. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) (Data file)

- I agree with that. The frigate only carries about three heavy turbolasers in the game. We also don't know the size of the frigate to determine whether or not it is to small or not to carry heavy turbolasers. (Super Destroyer 92 15:58, 28 August 2006 (UTC))
- Good point. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

I wonder...
Edit
The design and the use of "-II" makes me wonder if the BFII developers confused Venators with Victory SDs. Kuralyov 00:04, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
- Knowing them, they probably confused something. Admiral J. Nebulax (talk)
00:47, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
- They're still too small to be any kind of Venators. Frankly, I just dislike their lazy naming scheme. There's two well-known classes called Victory already, why couldn't the BFII team come up with an original name? VT-16 12:26, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
- Perhaps they've run out of creativity. Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- Then do what WEG did for the Imperial Sourcebook and look for RL shipnames or classic phrases to have as classnames. Although I'm not wild about their designs, the Carrack, Dreadnaught, Lancer, Broadside and Tartan classes all have good names, just from looking in history books (yes, I know the last two were from EAW). =D VT-16 12:46, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
- Well, I have some class names I made up. If they need any help, they could always call me. ;) Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- Hmmm? ;) VT-16 17:27, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
- No, but I was actually very inspired by the "Imperium-class Ultra Star Destroyer". I'd call it the "Imperium-class Star Dreadnought" if it became canon, but I'm sure you-know-who would have a problem with that. Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- Yeah, but with all the sources I've been reading and adding to articles recently, you'd look pretty silly trying to ignore what they say, so therefore I'm optimistic about how people will assess the situation here on the wiki, regardless of him. Yesterday, I even posted some canon points (but not all) from a GAR article I helped proof-read, since I saw some posts on TFn complaining about me in connection with that article. ;P VT-16 17:37, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
- Really? Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
17:41, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, I think it's the one that was fragged yesterday. The "3 million clone issue" one. From what I hear there wasn't any real reason for it, I guess the mods just felt like this debate had gone on for too long. VT-16 17:49, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
- Oh. Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
19:53, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
- Did it ever occur to anyone that this might be Battlefront II's frigate game mechanic, and they used the Victory-class Star Destroyer Mk II as the Empire's frigate? I don't think this is meant to be a separate class.
- The Victory II-class frigate and Victory II-class Star Destroyer are very different. There's no way they were meant to be the same. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
22:42, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
- I disagree, and point out you have no evidence to back that claim up. The Victory-class SD is a well known design, so it was probably what was meant for use in the game. However, the Victory-class doesn't appear in the movies, so they had nothing to go on for what it should look like. This is probably why it looks nothing like a Victory-class, not to mention it's even listed in the Victory-class articles that during the Imperial era they were designated as "Heavy frigates."
- "No evidence"? Hardly. I've played Battlefront II. A Victory II-class Star Destroyer does not have those "fins" that the Victory II-class frigate has. And LucasArts wouldn't have screwed up, because they've put actual Victory II-class Star Destroyers in games. No matter what you say, they are two separate classes. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- The Victory-class SD is well-known and that means there are plenty of pictures available of it, therefore that's no excuse for not getting the design right. VT-16 17:23, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

Mystery Object
Edit
Does anyone have an idea on what those... objects are between the bridge unit and the large wings. They look like some sort of missile/torpedo tubes or heavy turbolasers. [[Super Destroyer 92 00:09, 23 December 2006 (UTC)]]
- What are you talking about? Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
00:11, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
- It's hard to explain. Between the bridge and the beginning of the wings. There are three tubes on each side. They are placed a little ways behind the bridge. [[Super Destroyer 92 00:22, 23 December 2006 (UTC)]]
- Well, there are probably many possibilities. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
00:24, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
- I guess so. [[Super Destroyer 92 00:26, 23 December 2006 (UTC)]]
- It could be a type of weapon, a couple of sensors, a tractor beam projector, or maybe even an escape pod launcher. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
00:29, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
- They could also be sheild generators. Capitain Max 17:54, August 30, 2010 (UTC)

The Victory II....
Edit
Ok, I never got why they did this, I think there was a Victory II but it was an updated version of the Victory-class SD, you know, like the Imperial II-class SD, not a frigate, so i dont know who posted this up here or why, but it was stupid, I enjoyed SW BF, and BF II wasn't as good imo Grand Admiral Scar 19:24, 24 July 2008 (UTC) 19:20, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
Rebellion?
Edit
The Victory II-class frigate is in Rebellion? Where?Stormie Fan 00:11, 24 September 2008 (UTC)
- Um I'm gonna go ahead and second this...I've played Rebellion SO much over the years, and there is nothing of the sort in that game. If I'm blind, someone let me know, but I'm going to remove it. 72.179.42.79 08:39, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
- Dang it, I did it again. That was me. Jenosidanian 08:41, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
Lenght?
Edit
I believe the frigate is 300-400m long. But that's just me. What do you think? Capitain Max 17:42, August 30, 2010 (UTC)
- I've made some measurements and I think it's about 250m long with the "wingspan" being about 180m. Capitain Max 14:58, September 18, 2011 (UTC)
