Galaxies is not a first person shooter[]

Whoever wrote that is obviously biased against the current incarnation of Star Wars Galaxies. While it has some elements of a shooter, it also has many more elements of a role playing game. It has more in common with a role playing game than a FPS.

1) Hits are calculated based on "rolls" damage is calculated on other "rolls" where as a FPS has hits calculated by cursor position, and damage based on static weapon output and cursor position.

2) While it is true that the combat is of a pace similar to a FPS, the camera position(being NOT from the first person perspective by default) makes it not a FP game.

3) The playstyles not involving combat would remove this game from the Shooter category. Until they remove entertainers and crafters(traders), it is not a FPS. Unsigned comment by 157.130.225.194 (talk • contribs).
