Talk:Vindicator-class heavy cruiser

"Complement Full TIE wing (1)" What's a wing? And what's a 'Full wing'? As there is no declaration of this term, this statement makes no sense, and gives no information. It has often been stated that a squadron in Star Wars has 12 fighters. But I never found a statement that a wing has a specific number of squadrons. In WW2 environment I found regurlary wings considered to have 3 squadrons. In some Star Wars article I found a wing being said to have 6 squadrons. And what exactly does the term 'Full wing' mean? Are there different types of wings?
- "...this statement makes no sense, and gives no information". Wrong. This gives the information that the Vindicator-class carried a full TIE wing. And as for "full wing", it's showing exactly what it says—a full TIE wing. Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- I wrote in one wing because that's what Starships of the Galaxy said. The rpg sourcebooks consistently say that one Imperial wing is six squadrons, but I chose to be conservative and only put in exactly what the book said. JimRaynor55 15:24, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
- Okay, then, thank you. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

Where does a Vindicator Cruiser show up in Mysteries of the Sith?--TIEDefenderPilot 04:56, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
The bit about Tarkin designing the Vindacator doesn't seem to be true, I just checked both versions of SSOTG. Must be Fanon

- So, given the above discussion, why does the page list the complement as 2 squadrons? Where does that come from? Jenosidanian 04:42, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
- Probably because somebody assumed that because the Vindicator uses the same hull as the Immobiliser 418 it should have the same fighter complement. I'm changing it back to 1 wing. Doluk 21:40, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

If the Vindicator is in Mysteries of the Sith, shouldn't there be an image available? Jenosidanian 23:29, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
Conflicting sources for fighter compliment
Edit
OK, I've just been reading through the Starships of the Galaxy (Saga Edition) book, and I've found that information in it conflicts with information in the Starships of the Galaxy (2001) book. Namely, in the 2001 book it states "Most were specifically designed to function without support craft and carry up to a full wing of TIE fighters." The 2007 book, on the other hand, states "Carried Craft: 24 starfighters" Now I'm thinking that the wording of the 2001 book gives us a little bit of room to make these sources both work. Since that source says "most," I think we can assume that some Vindicators didn't carry that compliment, and that the 2007 book is probably giving the minimum compliment for those ships which weren't designed to carry a full wing of 72. I'm going to put in that they carried 24-72 fighters depending on configuration. DolukTalk 17:48, 4 January 2009 (UTC)

I've noticed that there's an image of the Vindicator in the instruction booklet for Mysteries of the Sith. Does anyone think it should be added? ---Ping(JediCommando) 00:10, September 14, 2009 (UTC)
There deffinately should be a picture of some sort put on this page. The ship type has been seen therefore clearly has a canon image. VARGR 21:20, May 25, 2010 (UTC)
I'm really pleased someone stuck a picture up here! I've seen the Vindicator in Elite Squadron, and this screenshot is clearly from that game. Well done! MillieMuddFan67 19:51, August 5, 2010 (UTC)
