Behind the ScenesEdit

Concerning the origin of the name "Voolvif Monn", an older comment that was present through the 8 April 2008 edit previously read "The name "Voolvif Monn" is a word play on the 1941 horror film The Wolf Man."

The current entry, that sentence read "Voolvif Monn's name is likely derived from the Shistavanen Wolfman appearing in A New Hope from which his creation was inspired."

The problem is, I don't find that second sentence to follow, logically. The Shistavanen in "A New Hope" was Lak Sivrak. Voolvif Monn is a Shistavanen. Of course they look similar-they're the same species. If Monn's name is a nod to Sivrak, why isn't it just a nod to HIMSELF (as in, it describes him just as "Piggy" described how Porkins was heavyset) or to ALL Shistavanens being, in essence, wolfmen?

Frankly, it made more sense to me that it was a nod to the original movie "the Wolf Man." The title character became the classic wolfman of Hollywood in appearance, and Lak Sivrak's appearance was due to Lucas cutting costs by using a stock wolfman mask for the movie-that's why he was embarassed about it later and hid Sivrak in his Special Edition.

I can't PROVE it's all a reference to the classic movie, so I edited with a view towards incorporating both edits. Here's what I posted: "The name "Voolvif Monn" is a word play on "Wolf Man", the name of a 1941 horror film starring Lon Chaney Jr. Its usage here may be a nod to that movie (the Shistavanen of Star Wars resemble the title character), or may refer to the "wolfman" appearance of this character and the Shistavanen Lak Sivrak, who appeared in A New Hope the first Shistaven to appear in SW canon.Steel Damascus 15:09, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

Hasbro ImageEdit

I added this image and it has been deleted repeatedly. What is wrong with it? Several other pages contain the Hasbro images and it gives a realistic depiction of a cartoon only character. Purpilia 17:27, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

  • The main reason I removed it is because there's not really space for another image. Anyway, the picture looks strange and you can clearly the bubble and whatever surface the box is on. So yeah, there's nothing wrong with the image, just with that version of it. -- AdmirableAckbar (Talk) 18:17, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
    • Okay, I will try and get a better one and see if it fits somewhere else. Purpilia 05:21, 15 June 2008 (UTC)

P&A Edit

This is featured, but it doesn't have a Powers & abilites section. But doesn't Jedi articles need it to become featured? Unsigned comment by 192.89.129.162 (talk • contribs).

  • Yeah, I think you're right—if there's something to go in there, there should be a P&A section. You better contact AdmirableAckbar, the nominator of the article, and inform him about this lack. Remember to sign your comments using four tildes! -- 1358 (Talk) 12:50, May 10, 2010 (UTC)
  • Well a P&A's only required if there's enough info to warrant one, and I wouldn't say there is here. It'd be redundant to have one that merely repeats two or three lines already in the bio. -- AdmirableAckbar (Talk) 16:19, May 10, 2010 (UTC)
  • Why can't we just take out the stuff about his ability to create a force-field, I've seen power and abilities sections that are only two lines...I think Even Piell or Eeth Koth have a tiny section. It makes sense because after all it IS talking about a power/ability--JimminyTi 23:28, February 6, 2011 (UTC)
