[edit] Merge?
Merge with ARC trooper blaster rifle? PS: The name is canon, it comes direct from Karen Traviss.--Clone Commander CT-5619 helmet comlink 01:36, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
- Do we have a source? A quote? - \\Captain Kwenn// — Ahoy! 23:20, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
- Merge. Probably, for best results, have both Westar-M5 and ARC trooper assault rifle (incorrect, ARC trooper is redundant [advanced recon commando trooper? Yeah...no.]) Anyway, have them both redirect to Westar-M5 (ARC Blaster Rifle), since it is the standard ARC weapon for ARC Liutenants.
- Wait for confirmation first - \\Captain Kwenn// — Ahoy! 23:23, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
- Again, ARC can stand for "Advanced Recon Clone trooper", making "ARC trooper" perfectly fine. And when they are merged, they go here, not at a "Westar-M5 (ARC Blaster Rifle)" article. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- Again, whatever Traviss said needs to be sourced before we merge - \\Captain Kwenn// — Ahoy! 16:43, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
- Commander Jake, care to provide a link for us? Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- I'd love to. Unfortunately, it requiress me to scour the 200-page long ARC thread on theforce.net's message boards. over Thanksgiving Break, I'll get to it.--CT-5619 helmet comlink 01:30, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
- Could you give us a link to the forum? I'll try to help. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- Sure. The forums are at http://boards.theforce.net , the thread in which the link was posted is at http://boards.theforce.net/literature/b10003/13854243/p1. Unforutnately, said thread is 200+ pages if you're not registered, but I appreciate the assistance, Admiral.--CT-5619 helmet comlink 21:01, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
- Hopefully my old account is still accessable, then. ;) Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- Found it. Traviss's quote is towards the bottom. I'm moving this article accordingly - \\Captain Kwenn// — Ahoy! 18:30, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

- How exactly did Traviss name this, since none of the sources listed are by her? If she 'named' it just by posting on a forum, that is not canonical. Kuralyov 02:10, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
- I don't think anybody understands this. I think she just mentioned this on the messageboards. This doesn't mean a thing. This is not an official name --Sompeetalay 16:14, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
[edit] WESTAR
Is WESTAR the manufacturer or a part of the gun's name? — SparqMan Talk 21:03, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
- Considering there's a WESTAR-34, it's probably part of the blaster's name. —Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
21:04, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
- Although of course the name could also be that of the manufacturer. But there's sadly not much info on the WESTARs - \\Captain Kwenn// — Ahoy! 21:11, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

- Wasnt it origanally called a DC-17a assalt rifle?--PyRo 13:23, 25 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Capacity
Doe's anyone have a guess on the number of shots that can be fired before reloading?. 216.26.212.143 10:29, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Settings
What exactly does it mean by being able to be set in automatic? 71.251.43.149 16:48, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
Never mind, a friend explained it to me. 71.251.43.149 17:18, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Official Source
- Can somebody please state the official source of this name? Even if Karen did name this weapon, she still has to publish this in an official source. I'd like to know in what source this name has appeared. --Sompeetalay 15:24, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
- Seems like nobody cares. This name is still not published in any official source. Perhaps the CW Campaign Guide will feature it? --Sompeetalay 14:12, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Appearances
I put Star Wars Republic: The New Face of War in appearances if that's ok. Does the Westar-M5 appear in the Republic Commando books? I'd be surprised if it didn't. Also the Westar-M5 seems to have similarity's to the XM8 rifle with its adaptability.--24.148.222.64 01:15, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
