[edit] Mentioned only

Dark Tide I: Onslaught is where we found out that Janson was retired. That more than qualifies as a mention. Here are some citations, to stifle any uninformed arguments:

Page 60:
"For almost the whole of Gavin's time in the squadron, Nine had been Corran Horn, and Five had been Hobbie or Janson or Tycho Celchu. Then again, Lead was almost always Wedge, but now I'm the leader."

Page 102:
"You weren't at Mrlsst, were you?"
"Before my time. I served with a lot of the people who were: Wedge Antilles, Hobbie Klivian, Wes Janson, Tycho Celchu... They're retired now."

Page 120:
"Wedge's pride and faith in him had seen Gavin through some early rough spots. With peace came the retirement of many of the pilots. In addition to Wedge and Tycho, Corran Horn, Wes Janson, and Hobbie Klivian had all opted to retire."

Please stop deleting it from the appearances now. That's why we have the {{Mo}} template.

Further, he is NOT in Destiny's Way. There is not a single instance of the string "Wes" or any variation of "Janson" in the text. He doesn't show up in the NJO at all until Allston brings him back in Enemy Lines II: Rebel Stand. If I'm wrong, provide citations. —Darth Culator (talk) 17:32, 9 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Douche Bags

Good. I'm glad you wasted minutes (and hopefully an hour) of your life typing out quotes from a book in order to inflate your undoubtedly fragile ego.

I would scroll through Destiny's Way and point out the lines where Janson's 'Taanab Yellow Aces' are mentioned, but that would be self-defeating for a variety of reasons--not the least of which being the fact that I would come across as the same steaming pile of socially-challenged excrement that you have proven yourself to be.

So, I'll just add Destiny's Way. And you will have two choices:

1. You can continue to revert it back, in which I will casually change it.

2. You can spend time out of your boring and dull life flipping through every page and lines in a book looking for the words 'Wes' or 'Janson.'

Either way, I win.

  • Careful. There's no need for the abuse. QuentinGeorge 07:59, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
    • Dude, you're wrong. When you have a .TXT transcript of almost every Star Wars book and you know how to use grep, it's amazingly easy to prove someone wrong. Now post the page number in Destiny's Way where the Yellow Aces are mentioned (they're not) before you change it again, or else you're a vandal, and will be duly reported. This is a community, and you have a very anti-social attitude. —Darth Culator (talk) 14:45, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
    • Since it's a lazy Sunday and I'm incredibly bored, I figured out a set of expression strings that would find every possible variant spelling of Janson or Taanab in the NJO books, even really wrong ones: "grep -l [JG][AaEeIiOoUu][NnMm][Ss][AaEeIiOoUu][NnMm] NJO*.txt" and "grep -l [T][AaEeIiOoUu][AaEeIiOoUuNnMm][AaEeIiOoUuNnMn][AaEeIiOoUu][BbDd] NJO*.txt" -- Still doesn't turn up even a false-positive between NJO Book 12 (Rebel Stand) and NJO Book 19 (Unifying Force). So no amount of whining or name-calling will prove you right. Have a nice day. —Darth Culator (talk) 20:29, 12 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fun Stuff

It's pretty intellectually difficult to make an argument that someone can be a "vandal" with a socialist enterprise. Star Wars Wiki belongs to every human being on the planet, ergo, I can do whatever I feel like doing at any given time because it belongs to me.

"Don't hate the player. Hate the game."

P.S. I changed it again. Whine a little for me. Will ya?

  • Socialist enterprise, huh? How's this for socialism: "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others." That would be why we have admins. :-) —Darth Culator (talk) 22:07, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
    • It's not intellectually difficult at all. perhaps it is for you...but when the community has established law and order I think it is pretty easy to comprehend how you are a vandal. Vandal McVandalpants. Furthermore, you should really pick up a book sometime because this website isn't based on socialism bur rather democracy. Majority rules, by the people for the people, etc etc. Kudos for trying to sound intellectual though. --DannyBoy7783 22:14, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
      • Vandal McVandalpants. I love it. Why don't we just delete this crap? 68.225.240.87 00:36, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
    • Vandals try to be more equal too.. -Finlayson 15:24, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] ...huh?

What the hell is with these rubbishy and hostile discussion topics? Absolutely embarressing. Whoever you are, you should be ashamed of yourself for getting so worked up over this. 68.225.240.87 00:32, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Birth

What's the source of his birth being in 19 BBY? --JMM 18:52, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fury?

Where is the source for him being in Fury? I know it says it in the artilce for Fury, but I can't find anything anywhere else to validify it. Was there a recent release of information that I just can't find?--Hobbie 04:51, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

  • There was a glitch on either Random House's or Del Rey's website that posted the whole novel temporarily. Doubtless, it came from there and will be double-checked when the book is released. Atarumaster88 (Talk page) 05:19, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
  • There needs to be a major expansion of the section about Janson's actions during the Second Galactic Civil War, as what we have at the moment is a brief summarisation of the plotline involving him in Fury, which I don't believe meets current FA standards --Jinzler 16:41, November 11, 2009 (UTC)
    • As an individual, he really does very little in Fury. He is barely mentioned by name and overall does little in the battle that we know of, unless you are referring to another source. I could add a large amount of context about the 2nd GCW, but it would have almost nothing to do with Janson individually. Atarumaster88 (Talk page) 22:56, November 12, 2009 (UTC)
