What is this?
Edit
Er...what the hell is this? --MarcK [talk] 16:34, 27 January 2006 (UTC)
- Fairly certain it's an X-wing variant from the Rebel Alliance Sourcebook. I'll look it up to confirm, if someone else doesn't get to it first. Some information may be fanon, though. — Silly Dan 16:37, 27 January 2006 (UTC)
- The CG image is definately fanon, at least. The article even states this model hasn't been in any games, so why would we have a CG version of it? - Kwenn 16:52, 27 January 2006 (UTC)
- I think the whole thing may be fanon, actually: the trainer starfighter I was thinking of is a Z95 Headhunter variant! — Silly Dan 01:51, 28 January 2006 (UTC)
- The actual ship is from Crimson Empire II issue 5 and 6. The CG image is fanon, from Darksaber's X-wing Station (like so much other fanon that gets posted here). The description seems to be a derivation of the description from Darksaber, but written by someone with spectacularly bad English language skills. —Darth Culator (talk) 15:59, 30 January 2006 (UTC)

Did I remove too much?
Edit
I think I got rid of all the fanon in this article, but now it's a bit stubby. If I removed something that's actually canon by mistake, please let me know and restore it. Red XIV 04:17, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
Extra Seat?
Edit
Just wondering what's the point of the extra seat? An extra launcher shouldn't require a gunner. It's not like they added a gun turret like on the Y-wing. So maybe it was a copilot/navigator type. -Finlayson 02:33, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
- Maybe a trainer? Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
12:57, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
- Most likely. Adm Ackbar does some training flights in one (He called it a TX-65 though) in Shield of Lies. -Finlayson 04:48, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
- I think that's another name for the same model. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

Name?
Edit
Where does the name for this come from? It definitely wasn't in CEII. Kuralyov 21:13, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
- I'm fairly sure it's fanon. I haven't seen an actual name for it in anything canon. If there are no objections by this time tomorrow, I'm going to move it to "X-wing (two-seat)" or "X-wing (heavy)" and slap a {{Nickname}} tag on it. -- Darth Culator (Talk)(TINC) 21:49, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
- Are you sure it wasn't name in CE II? Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- I just reread the last three issues of CE2. It was only referred to as "an X-wing." -- Darth Culator (Talk)(TINC) 04:00, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
- Wasn't this called a trainer somewhere? Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
14:14, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
- Not in any way that was associated with this model. This seven-engine version only appeared in CE2. The TX-65 trainer has side-by-side seats. -- Darth Culator (Talk)(TINC) 17:36, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
- Figures. I haven't read CE II lately. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- Is it more likely that this ship is an ugly? It seems to have a fairly odd arrangement of parts (seven engines?), and an official two-seat X-wing already exists in the form of the aforementioned TX-65. jSarek 20:50, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
- I don't think it's an ugly, but can we try to come up with a better name? Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- It looks too consistent to be an ugly, IMO. And uglies are one of the stupidest ideas in the EU, so I'd rather not add another one. As for the name, I don't much care where it goes as long as we're rid of the fanon name. -- Darth Culator (Talk)(TINC) 21:22, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
- "Seven-engined X-wing"? Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

Possible Merge?
Edit
The picture for the tandem X-wing seems to fit the description for the TX-65 X-wing starfighter; specifically the parts about it having an expanded fuselage and two-seater capacity. Perhaps what we see in Crimson Empire II is a version that's been outfitted for actual combat? Halomek 20:53, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
