So, uh, where are the engines on this thing?Dangerdan97 15:02, 12 April 2006 (UTC)
- Probably in the rear, like always. Just because the Y-wing engines were removed doesn't mean there couldn't be another engine somewhere. Admiral J. Nebulax (talk)

- My principle beef is the one official image I've seen of it (I believe in WEG's "Pirates and Privateers") doesn't even hint at any sort of propulsive drive, certainly nothing equivalent to the massive nacelles that it took to poke along with as a Y-Wing. Dangerdan97 08:31, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
- It's probably a TIE engine. Admiral J. Nebulax (talk)

- Agreed. Anyone have knowledge on the go mechanism on one of these beasts? Serendipitousus 20:38, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
- I seem to recall reading (somewhere in either the X-wing novels or comics) something to the effect of uglies having a cockpit grafted of one ship grafted to the engines from another ship, and that's supposed to be the indicator to how they are named -in this case its a Y-wing cockpit on a TIE engine, hence 'Y-TIE' (as opposed to a TIE cockpit on a Y-wing engine, which would be a 'TIE-Y' or 'TIE-wing'). However, I don't believe its an 'official' (in-universe) designation policy.Tocneppil 20:49, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
- All we know for sure is that the RPG gives it a space speed of "5" and an atmosphere speed of 800kph, which can be compared to a stock TIE's space 10/atmo 1200 and a Y-wing's space 7/atmo 1000 to get some vague idea of its propulsion capability. Presumably it has some kind of pokey little engine tucked away in the section we can't see in the picture. -- Darth Culator (Talk)(Kills) 20:55, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
- Good point. The RPG rating is probably based on most uglies being 'cobbled together' from scavenged parts, which wouldn't necessarily be top-of-the-line.Tocneppil 21:09, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
- Probably. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)

- Just agreeing with you. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision)
