Talk:Z-6 rotary blaster cannon

From Wookieepedia, the Star Wars wiki.

In the real world 'chaingun' is more of a generic name like carbine or pistol. Of course 'rotary blaster cannon' is a pretty straightforward descriptive term, but is quite a mouthful to say. With "Z-6" in front of it, it seems like part of the overall 'product name' that the manufacturer is using in sales.Tocneppil 04:33, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

This weapon is called a 'blaster' which is an energy weapon, yet when it is seen in use against General Grievous in the Clone Wars, it's apparent that it's not firing energy. It's firing projectiles, as it only shows the splash of bullets when they impact a surface. The weapon would by more aptly named the Z-6 rotary cannon. 'Blaster' possibly a slang misnomer.

  • If it is a blaster, it's really just a very intimidating light repeating blaster. It's rate of fire is no where near a real mini-gun's rate (i.e. ~4,000 rounds per second). That would make me more inclined to think it is a slugthrower, except we clearly see blaster bolts coming out of it. So, scary looking light repeating blaster (and only because it can be used by one person without assistance or a tripod/mount). Operations.kt 01:13, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

Actualy, nevermind. It still doesn't make sense, but it's better explained in the Databank.

Wasn't Hasbro's first version of the ARC heavy gunner from The Search For General Grevious battle pack armed with this weapon (from a GI Joe figure) instead of his usual Reciprocating quad blaster? --FFN 12:56, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
