Last Visitor of ZiostEdit

Isn't it technically Lumiya now? I'm unsure, but I'm pretty sure she had been there recently, judging by her comments. --Sauron18 07:53 27 June 2006 (CDT)

unclear Edit

Its unclear in the article on how Ziost became a wasteland. Did the Republic bombard the crap out of it or what? Maybe that should be included in the article.

a few answers Edit

yes it was naga sedows home world

the sith started on korriban and moved their capitol to ziost

as for the planet being a wasteland if it wasnt always that way it may have occured from the massive flux in the force that occurs when an entire race as one with the force as the massassi comes to the world and then dies out and leave the world , but this would bring up the issue of why this didnt happen to yavin after exar kun destroyed the sith race. Possibly because it wasnt on the kind of scale as Ziost.

just my theory

Ben's visit Edit

Jacen didn't send Ben to this planet, at least not directly.

  • Right. Ben traveled there in pursuit of a Sith artifact that had been taken there by someone else. We should edit the article to reflect that. Rebel Dragon 01:46, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

Just Checking Edit

After some reading I added a section to the article discussing Ziost versus Korriban as the Sith homeworld. Someone say whether or not the information I put is solid. --Krys Weyd 07:12 27 June 2006 (EST)

  • I read Exile just the other day, and there it stated that Ziost was the homeworld of the Sith species, which contradicts the other sources of Korriban being said homeworld. The question then becomes "which source do we believe?" and "what media has a higher 'canon'icity?" Exile is a novel and more recent than the comics and video games which claim Korriban as the homeworld of the species. One possible explanation is that Korriban was mistaken for the homeworld due to it being the burial ground and academy for the later Sith Orders. That latter is, of course, speculation, so I could be wrong. Rebel Dragon 01:44, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

What I would like to know is after the Hundred-Year Darkness ,to which planet were the Dark Jedi XoXaan, Karness Muur, and Ajunta Pall exiled too? Did Pall goto Ziost while XoXaan and Muur went to Korriban?

Regarding these concerns, and the information presently in the article itself, I feel it necessary to provide my input. KORRIBAN is the original homeworld of the Sith species and the Sith Order, regardless of what any extraneous sources may claim. My source for this knowledge is the Tales of the Jedi comic series which I read avidly when I was younger: those comics not only gave much of the original backstory on the Sith and on Korriban, but in fact introduced the Sith species and the planet of Korriban into the Star Wars universe to begin with. Nor am I aware of anything -- feel free to correct me, as my memory does occasionally falter -- in the Golden Age of the Sith arc which suggests that Ziost is the original homeworld of the Sith. Rather, it states that Ziost is the capital of the Sith Empire just prior to the Great Hyperspace War. But the entire series is very clear that Korriban is the original homeworld, the exiled Dark Jedi landed on Korriban, and Korriban is where the Sith Order was founded. If I remember correctly there was a novel or encyclopedia or two which stated incorrectly that Ziost was the homeworld and caused quite a bit of confusion. But in these matters, especially when the canon is so well-established in its original form, I believe it is better to have recourse to the older sources rather than newer sources, such as the "encyclopedias" or "RPG articles" which often contain not only perfunctory but silly secondhand and thirdhand references to Star Wars mythology. I don't care what the New Encyclopedia of the Force or one of many of Pena's articles tries to assert, the Tales of the Jedi introduced these things into Star Wars canon in the first place, it's one of the few direct in-universe appearances, and as far as I'm concerned has far more canonical authority. I wholeheartedly recommend changing the article to reflect this readily verifiable (and much preferable) information. --Xanatose

Moons? System name? Edit

Did Ziost have any moons? What was the name of the star it orbited and the system it occupied? Azra Namor 20:05, 22 April 2007 (UTC)

RevanEdit

Revan's soul was captured and taken to Ziost by Kreia's Force ghost...perhaps they had something to do with it becoming a wasteland of caves and cliffs? FemaleCommando25

When did THAT happen? Dewback rancher 17:57, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

Agreed. Source please. Jediphile 13:59, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

AffiliationEdit

You should add the New sith empire as a affilation--Darth malleus 16:54, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

Info on Planet itselfEdit

The information on the climate, terrain, etc. is quite vague. I think we should have more on it if it's available. —Darth MalevolousSith Emblem.svg("You (He) will join us or die."--Darth Vader) 20:44, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

Connection to the Infinite Empire??Edit

Why is Ziost listed as associated with the Infinite Empire. I realize Korriban was, given one of the starmaps is found there by Revan in the KotOR1 computer game, but that does not make Ziost associated with the Infinite Empire. Indeed, it could be argued the Sith species left Korriban because of the Infinite Empire. What is the source that establishes Ziost as affiliated with the Infinite Empire, because KotOR1 definitely does not establish it - Ziost is not even mentioned in KotOR1. Jediphile 14:05, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

I agree. Unless explicitly stated, we cannot include it in the category. Edit: Removed. --Kessel 18:10, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
Going on new information here (though at this point it can't yet be said to be "officially cannonical") in the Eternity Vault demo ([1] at 1:13 and in the text at 1:18), General Threnoldt mentions Rakata Inscriptions in a place called the "Ziost Abyss". Now, despite the fact that the game has not been released, Bioware couldn't have included that piece of dialogue without approval from Lucasarts, and the fact that it was even recorded at all suggests that the "Ziost Abyss" is a cannonical place. Obviously, the deciding factor will revolve around whether or not this Rakata affiliated area is inluded at game launch, but it may be worth noting in the Behind the Scenes section. Edit: I have added the information into the Behind the Scenes section. I would say it's worth mentioning even if it doesn't make it into the final game.--ShamasterX 21:34, October 1, 2011 (UTC)

General Kota Edit

Well, in the Wii version of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, you FIND Kota on Nar Shaddaa. However, in the 360 and PS3 versions, in a cutscene, Starkiller says he tracked Kota "...from Nar Shaddaa to Ziost..." and trails off. I haven't played the 360 or PS3 versions, but I assume Starkiller finally found him on Bespin at Cloud City. Here's a link to a video. It's at 6:10 or so. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Us4Cp7YT05s It might be worth mentioning that Starkiller visited Ziost. Tony Knightcrawer 14:12, 19 September 2008 (UTC)

Question concerning genocide Edit

It says in the article that the jedi committed an act of genocide on Ziost, but there aren't references in the article. So I'd like to know if this really happened. 70.178.172.14 03:59, 24 February 2009 (UTC)curious starwars fan

Yeah, I saw that too, and have checked all the sources on the article including the TOTJ comics, which never refer to any genocide, in fact Empress Teta wanted to give the Sith a second chance. There is no evidence for this genocide, so I am removing it. --Obi-wan Jacobi 07:41, September 19, 2009 (UTC)

Ziost on the map? Edit

I fail to find this planet on the galactic map, can anyone add an image?

Btw, in "The Old Republic" website you can go to Concept arts and you will find something like a Headquarter and it says below "the homeworld of the sith" now, this doesnt look like korriban, its a night concept i know, but still, might this be Ziost? Remember that the True Sith Empire actually wasnt in Korriban, they came from somewhere to retake Korriban.....
