The Taloron Pirate Conflict was a war fought between the Taloron species and pirate groups who had bases in that species' Taloron system and preyed upon them. After nearly wiping out the Taloron population, the species was forced to abandon its previous existence as mostly peaceful farmers to adopt a warrior society. The Talorons staged guerilla raids against the pirates and their leader, Halgir, and formed a group known as the Taloron Hunters. The species eventually defeating the pirates and reclaimed the system at some point during the regime of the Galactic Empire. After the war was finished, however, the Talorons found that they had a warrior society with no one to fight. Several Talorons left the system to find work as bounty hunters and assassins.^[1]
