Talzin's firstborn daughter was one of the children of Talzin, Matriarch and Shaman of the Nightsisters on Dathomir. The Shaman claimed that, while she was giving birth to this girl, she was struck with a fatal affliction. Talzin nearly died in childbirth, but she had a vision of the Other Realm and was saved by the Spirits—a mythological embodiment of the Force.[1]

Behind the scenesEdit

Talzin's maternal near-miss and miraculous salvation convinced her to become a shaman. In his endnotes for the Book of Sith, Daniel Wallace said he mapped this event of Talzin's biography against the real-world traditions of shamanism.[2]
