Tamarin sector was a sector located within the Outer Rim near Sarin sector. Planets in the sector included Alis Point, Baffop, Bengely, Garis, Kirdo III, Rior, Sevarcos II and Z'trop.

It also contained the Imperial Research and Development Station T-1583, the Dravian Starport, the Rantine Space Station, Viraxo 54, the Camen Spaceport and the Saruwen Station.

History

By the time of the Bordal Contagion of 214 BBY, the Tamarin sector was part of the Galactic Republic. However the Republic authority had ceased to exist beyond Kabal and the Tamarin and neighboring Rseik sector had fallen into anarchy. The region had become a pirate heaven and Planetary Security Forces were outgunned by them. The Republic senator of Tamarin sector was a Spice Lord from Sevarcos II and his Sector Fleet was only assigned to protect spice haulers.[4]

But following the Bordal Contagion, various organizations in both sectors, including the Ma'ar Shaddam Weaponsmiths Guild, Kett Shipping, Rseikharhl Hullspace and Cotellieri Transports Limited decided to arrange a meeting with a representative from the Trade Federation. After a single day of meeting on Syned, the organizations agreed to become members of the Federation. Shortly afterward, warships from the Trade Defense Force overwhelmed the pirates in the area. Eventually the Trade Federation took control over the entire Rseik and Tamarin sectors.[4]

It was ruled by Moff Lobax Resuun during the Galactic Civil War. Chaos erupted in the sector following the Battle of Endor. Challenged by fledgling planetary governments, Moff Resuun was also forced to struggle against the demoralization of the remaining Imperial forces and the expending criminality. Organized crime had grown from small time gun-runners and spice smugglers to a powerful economizing military force throughout the sector. The Moff headquarters and the sectorial government were eventually relocated to the Imperial-class Star Destroyer Retribution.[2]

Moff Resuun managed to maintained enough power and influence to avoid any open revolution against the Empire until the actions of Sard Nightbringer, the most powerful crime lord of the sector. She was determined to force the Empire out of the sector and take over the government. Nightbringer managed to invade the Imperial R&D Station T-1583 and steal experimental technology but she was eventually killed by her second.[2]
