Tanea was the Senior Surveyor onboard the Astrogator-class probe ship Astrolabe employed with the Astrographic Survey Institute in 16 ABY. She had nearly three thousand overflights of star systems during her career yet had only set foot on half a dozen worlds. She was killed with the rest of the ship's crew when the Astrolabe was destroyed by the Yevetha in the leadup to the Black Fleet Crisis.
