Tanis Mothma was a Human female who served as the Governor of Hanna City, Chandrila during the years prior to the Clone Wars. Her husband was an arbiter-general of the Galactic Republic and their daughter Mon Mothma became Bormea sector's Senator. Tanis was the grandmother of Jobin and Lieda Mothma.
In 22 BBY, Tanis Mothma made a public statement regarding a walk-out strike performed by Chandrila Public Safety Commission staff, in response to the vote for a Grand Army of the Republic. Tanis appeared to sympathize with the striking employees. She was presumably perished in a tragic attack by General Lok Durd's bio weapons.
