"Our biggest, most stacked slider! Piled high with two patties, triple cheese, deep-fried Tapani triangles, mega-leaf lettuce, a slice of algae-bread, Boontaspiced mustard, plankton spread, larded neutrinos and a fried blubberbird egg, with a green jumbolive on top, it's just the thing to satisfy a Herglic-sized hunger."
―The description of a Giju slider at Dex's[src]

Tapani triangles were a type of food which were used as an ingredient in Giju sliders. The sliders were served with Tapani triangles at the eatery known as Dex's Diner on the planet Coruscant[1] at some point before its destruction during the first two years of the Galactic Empire's rule.[2] The Besalisk chef and owner of the diner, Dexter Jettster, created the slider—which he considered delicious—based on inspiration from the planet Giju, homeworld of the Herglic species and charged 7.7 credits for it. In addition to deep fried Tapani triangles, the slider also featured mega-leaf lettuce, algae-bread, two Mongo Beefhead patties, plankton spread, a triple serving of cheese, Boontaspiced mustard, and larded neutrino all on a trans-shipped medium-density foodboard with a green jumbolive on top.[1] The Tapani sector was the sector of the Colonies in which Giju was located.[3]

Behind the scenesEdit

Tapani triangles was first mentioned in the 2009 StarWars.com Hyperspace exclusive article, Dining at Dex's, which was written by Gregory Walker as an in-universe menu for Dex's Diner. The article does not establish if there was any more of a connection between the triangles and the sector than the name that they share.

The Essential Reader's Companion later stated that the novel took place around the year 18 BBY. The New Essential Chronology states that the Empire was formed in 19 BBY, so Dex's Diner was destroyed either during 19 BBY or 18 BBY.
