An unnamed Human technician, identified by IG-88 only as Target Number One, was the first person killed by the assassin droid. The technician, employed by Holowan Laboratories, was one of several scientists assigned to Project Phlutdroid. Selected as IG-88's first target because he was the first to attempt to activate the emergency alarm, the technician died when IG-88 threw a disconnected droid arm into his back, smashing his spinal cord and his heart.
