Tarkin's Revenge was a squadron of at least three TIE/fo space superiority fighters that served in the navy of the First Order, and may have been involved with the Starkiller aerial defense force. Named for Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin of the Galactic Empire, the unit was stationed on the Starkiller Base superweapon during the Order's conflict with the Resistance.[1] In the year 34 ABY,[3] the squadron was part of the forces scrambled to engage Resistance T-70 X-wing fighters above the base during the Battle of Starkiller Base. During the fighting the fighters of Tarkin's Revenge fought against the Resistance Commander Poe Dameron in his X-wing starfighter Black One.[1] Ultimately the First Order lost the battle and Starkiller Base was destroyed.[1]
Behind the scenes
Tarkin's Revenge were first identified in the reference book Star Wars Complete Locations,[1] which was released on September 27, 2016.[4] The squadron is supposed to be[1] one of the many seen in the final battle of the film Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens,[5] which was released on December 18, 2015;[6] however, it is impossible to tell exactly which of the starfighters in the film the squadron is suppose to be.[5]
