Tarron Neb
Tarron Neb was a member of a species that hailed from the mountainous moon Yavin 8, located within the Yavin system. When Emperor Palpatine,[1] ruler of the Galactic Empire that held dominion over the galaxy,[2] became disgusted by Yavin 8 natives, he ordered that they should be destroyed. His will was carried out, and although the species was largely wiped out, Neb was able to escape the purge, leaving him as the sole survivor. For armament, Neb carried a sword, and wore a form of armor.[1]
Behind the scenes
Edit
Tarron Neb was created by Stephen Baker, a 16-year-old Star Wars fan who participated in Star Wars Galaxy's "Design an Alien" competition, which was initiated in Star Wars Galaxy 3 (1995). When the winning entries were published in Star Wars Galaxy 7 (1996), Baker's entry was placed under the "honorable mentions" section of the "under 16" subdivision. Although the entry was published as "Tarron," Baker's original artwork features the spelling of "Torron." It was one of the rare black and white entries in the competition. Star Wars continuity editor Leland Chee later stated that successfully published "Design an Alien" material was considered canon.[3] In spite of this, the character of Tarron Neb is yet to be referenced in any other Star Wars material.
