Tasia's Tapcafé was a restaurant which was in business on a hangar deck level of the Wheel space station during the Galactic Civil War between the Galactic Empire and the Alliance to Restore the Republic. The restaurant served food from the planet Alderaan, the homeworld of its proprietor, Brun Brux. After the Destruction of Alderaan, the establishment became a rallying point for Alderaanian survivors and those with resentment for the Empire. The back wall of the restaurant became a impromptu memorial for the planet with customers leaving holograms and messages for the dead, the survivors and the defiant. Brux commiserated with those passing through, being saddened and angry himself, although he discourage active rebellion for fear of attracting the attention of the Imperial Security Bureau.
Shortly after a message pod was discovered near the Wheel, a group of around twenty individuals had gathered outside of Tasia's Tapcafé. The group however came to block the way of the crew of the Nightflyer, a salvage vessel belonging to the Yiyar Salvage company, who were attempting to steal the droid IT-3PO on a V5 medium cargo floater. The group forced the crowd to disperse which caused them to become more of an obstacle for the group of spacers chasing the crew and trying to recover the droid.
Behind the scenesEdit
Tasia's Tapcafé was first introduced in Beyond the Rim, an adventure module written by Sterling Hershey in 2013 for the Fantasy Flight Games roleplaying game, Star Wars: Edge of the Empire. It was one location players could potentially travel to while searching for information during the first episode of the game. The establishments involvement in the chase is only a suggested obstacle for players and does not necessarily need to be included.
