The tass root was a kind of plant native to the planet of Ruusan. When powdered, mixed with the flowers from the scintil vine, and dampened it formed a highly corrosive paste. In 980 BBY, Darovit, a hermit living on Ruusan, used the paste to sabotage the construction of a monument being built in the Valley of the Jedi to honor the Jedi of the Army of Light who sacrificed their lives to destroy the Brotherhood of Darkness.
