Tataouine (Arabic: تطاوين, also spelled Tatouine, Tatahouine, or Tatawin) is a village in Tunisia. Although no actual filming took place in the town, George Lucas notably uses the name for his fictional planet Tatooine. Filming did take place in nearby ksar's for The Phantom Menace in Medenine, Ksar Oueld Soltane and Ksar Hadada to represent Mos Espa's Slave Quarters Row.
