The tau serpent was a species of creature that lived during or before 21 BBY. That year, when Ko Sai, the Chief Scientist in charge of producing the Grand Army of the Republic, was captured by clone trooper trainer Kal Skirata and his adopted children, they clothed her in a borrowed gown. Upon seeing the Kaminoan's long neck extend from the outfit, Jedi Knight Etain Tur-Mukan was reminded of a tau serpent freeing itself from a bag.
