Tauntaun Troopers were Rebel troopers who rode on Tauntauns during the events of the Galactic Civil War. They were largely utilized for scouting purposes, although they also saw some combat as well. They were outfitted at Rebel Troop Centers and carried flamethrowers.

Tauntaun Troopers saw frequent use during the events leading up to and during the Battle of Hoth, with their purposes including scouting and also battles.

Behind the scenesEdit

Tauntaun troopers made their first appearance in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back in the beginning of the film. Their role was somewhat expanded in Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds as a mounted infantry unit for the Rebel Alliance. Due to gameplay purposes, all mounted infantry within the Rebel Alliance were of Tauntauns, even in areas where they shouldn't thrive in.
