Tav Kennede was a Human male. He was the son of Ved Kennede, the training master of the Emperor's Royal Guard.

Upon learning from Royal Guard Kir Kanos of his father's murder by Carnor Jax's stormtroopers, Tav assisted Kanos in his mission to kill Jax's co-conspirators, the Imperial Interim Ruling Council.
In 11 ABY, he helped Kanos escape from the execution of Boss Banjeer and arrive at the employ of Grappa the Hutt. He later watched over Mirith Sinn's interactions with Grappa, keeping Kanos informed of his actions. Joining up with New Republic forces under Sinn, he helped them carry out strikes on Smarck and Genon.
In the Battle of Ord Cantrell, Tav was wounded while saving the life of ex-Imperial Baron Ragez D'Asta. After the battle, Tav left the employ of both Kanos and the New Republic and entered the service of Baron D'Asta.
