"The pyre is the end for which all true Jedi are destined..."
―Mace Windu at Yarael Poof's funeral[src]

The Pyre room of the Jedi Temple was the place within the Jedi Temple in which all Jedi were cremated after their deaths. It was circular in shape and its ceilings were open to the outside air.

The tan stone from which the Temple was constructed also decorated this chamber. In the center lay a long stone bed, upon which wood would be laid. The Council member leading the ceremony would say a few words about the deceased and would then light a fire in the wood upon which the body was laid. Jedi High Council member Yarael Poof was one such Jedi to be cremated here; his funeral was presided over by Jedi Master Mace Windu.
