Although this article is based on official information from the Star Wars Legends continuity, the actual name of this subject is pure conjecture.

Using his expertise with exo-technology and working in conjunction with Jedi Master Syo Bakarn, the scientist Tharan Cedrax developed a device in 3643 BBY that could prevent a Jedi from affecting a person's mind with the Force. The device worked by paralyzing the part of the forebrain that became active when a Jedi tried to exert his influence upon their target.
