The Black Bantha was an Imperial propaganda holofilm that starred a young Garik Loran. Garik later joked about this film after joining the New Republic's Wraith Squadron.

The holodrama was successful enough that Garik Loran was promised an opportunity to meet the Emperor. Because of the up-and-coming Rebel Alliance, the Emperor was too busy to meet a child actor. Loran met Ysanne Isard instead.
