The Rumbles was an area in the Dune Sea that was known for its pits. In 19 BBY, Kallie Calwell, a young girl was still working with her family's dewbacks. While on a dewback named Snit, the animal stampeded and headed towards the Rumbles. Her mother Annileen Calwell attempted a rescue, the possibility of a sarlacc being present clear in their mind. This was when Obi-Wan Kenobi, a Jedi Master going under the name Ben, appeared to help the teenager before they crashed. A juvenile sarlacc soon appeared, however and ate Snit.
