Rust Bucket was the starship belonging to Tann, the brother of Rebel soldier Surna.

Rust Bucket, named after an old family joke, was a small Corellian Engineering Corporation stock light freighter, older than the YT-1300 light freighter.

Tann purchased the freighter using credits borrowed from Jabba Desilijic Tiure. Tann was unable to earn enough credits to maintain his repayments to Jabba after he was grounded during the Imperial blockade of the planet Toprawa. The ship was subsequently impounded by agents working for Jabba.

In a high-stakes game of seven card comet, rebel soldier and fledgling Jedi Havet Storm won enough credits to free Rust Bucket. Surna, Tann and a few other rebels then used the ship to break through the Imperial blockade and escape the planet.

Once away from Toprawa, the band of rebels used the freighter to seek out and rejoin the Rebel Alliance.
