La Misión del Sith (translated as The Sith Mission) is a Spanish fan film still in proccess, supported by HoloRed Estelar Sevilla (HES) members. A short 30' film script that related how Darth Vader killed the remaining exiled Jedi was written down during the 2004 summer. It would happen between Episode III and Episode IV. The filming proccess is finished but the post-production work is not. This experience has been very useful to gain new members to HES, and to improve the Star Wars costumes.

[edit] Synopsis

[edit] Summary

It is a war period, when the Galactic Empire rises and the lasts of the Jedi are brutally killed by Darth Vader, following the orders of the Emperor Palpatine.

The film centers on two Jedi (Master Chamu Ashare and his Padawan Lex Ranm), who succeeded on fleeing from the massacre of the Jedi Temple with an holocron, and escape to the Outer Rim planet of Dersin, where other Jedi still fight for their survival.

They try to beat the Empire with the help of mercenaries, but the Empire itself count with Darth Vader, who will chase every Jedi to the death, in order to retrieve the lost holocron.

[edit] Canonicity

The Sith Mission was written and produced before the premiere of Revenge of the Sith, and inevitably there were discrepancies between what the filmmakers hypothesized would transpire in Revenge of the Sith, and what was eventually depicted in Lucas's finished film. Fan films by definition are not considered canonical; moreover, the mixed reception of fans to some of the story and plot elements of The Sith Mission seems to forestall its being embraced as fanon so far.

Inconcistencies include:

  • The Empire's soldiers are wearing the stormtrooper armor seen in the original trilogy, rather than the clone trooper armor seen during the attack on the Jedi Temple.
  • The characters explain that the film is set following the Jedi Temple's "destruction." However, Return of the Jedi reveals that the temple itself is still standing by at least 4 ABY.

[edit] Memorable quotes

"Get out of there, Jedi! You have no escape."
