[edit] Summary

Aside from the interviews from Star Wars actors, the film also documents Star Wars' cultural impact, depicting interviews with Star Wars fans around the time Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace was out in theaters and also showing a confrontation between them and Star Trek fans. While some of the interviews were (presumably) done specifically for the documentary, a lot of them (particularly the interview with George Lucas) were done as red carpet interviews during the 1997 premiere of the Special Edition. While discussing Star Wars cultural impact and origins, the documentary shows footage of other films, including the 1902 silent film A Trip to the Moon directed by Georges Méliès, the 1939 adaptation of The Wizard of Oz directed by Victor Flemming and Mel Brooks' 1987 comedy Spaceballs.
