"The Unknown Master, who came to Vaklin on his deathbed but never revealed his name."
―Namada mentions the Master in her report.[src]

The Unknown Master was a male Jedi Master who served the Jedi Order. Shortly before his death, the Jedi traveled to the planet Vaklin, where he did not reveal his name even as he died. He was commemorated by a statue by the local population.

The Unknown Master was a male Force-sensitive who was trained in the ways of the Force by the Jedi Order, eventually attaining the rank of Jedi Master. During the Master's final days, he traveled to the planet Vaklin, where he died without telling any of the local population his name. The locals commemorated the Jedi by building a statue of him in a public square in the city of Vaklin Zenith. In the year 19 BBY, following the rise of the Galactic Empire and the dissolution of the Jedi Order, an insurgency against the Empire took place on Vaklin, and the memorial was destroyed. It was destroyed by the Empire in an attempt at wiping out all memory of the Order's existence on Vaklin, which they hoped would reduce the populations support for the Jedi-led insurgency. Imperial Security Bureau Major Oniye Namada mentioned the Unknown Master in a report she wrote detailing the Insurgency, titled I-1807-VAK.[1]

Behind the scenesEdit

The Unknown Master was first mentioned in Purge: The Tyrant's Fist, Part 2, a comic book written by Alexander Freed and released in 2013 and part of the Star Wars: Purge series. The book does not make clear what era he lived in or what his species was, although statues in the square include a Myneyrsh and a Humanoid.
