The Thunderflare was an Imperial I-class Star Destroyer in service in the Imperial Navy during the Galactic Civil War.

HistoryEdit

Its weaponry was more powerful than other Star Destroyers due to the fact that energy from the ship's hyperdrive was transferred to its weapon systems. It was a common placement for junior officers due to its role as a Core Worlds patrol ship.^[5]

Sometime before the Battle of Yavin, Khurgee served aboard the Thunderflare, where he was honored for bravery after rescuing five officers from a shuttle crash. He was later assigned to the first Death Star as a docking-bay security officer.^[6]

During the Galactic Civil War, the ship was commanded by Captain Tanda Pryl and served as part of Moff Andal's fleet that patrolled the Elrood Sector.^[3]

In 4 ABY, the Thunderflare was affected to the defense of Death Star II's construction. It later fought at the Battle of Endor.^[1]
