Tofen's Raiders were a starfighter unit that hailed from Valahari and were famed for their ace pilots and engineers. Formed around the Clone Wars, the unit joined the Confederacy of Independent Systems against the Galactic Republic, and they were incorporated into the Separatist Navy. With elite Tempest Zero starfighters, the pilots operated numerous sorties in northern Separatist territories on behalf of their allies.[1]
Between 21 BBY and 19 BBY,[3] Tofen's Raiders entered a skirmish with Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, during which the Jedi's starfighter had experienced technical problems. Kenobi recounted the skirmish to Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker in a battle with the Separatist fleet, when the latter wanted to keep Kenobi out of piloting operations.[2]

Tofen's Raiders were first mentioned in the current Star Wars canon in Rise of the Separatists, a 2019 supplement to Fantasy Flight Games' series of Star Wars Roleplaying products.[1] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, Tofen's Raiders originally appeared in the tenth issue of the comic-book series Star Wars: The Clone Wars, authored by Henry Gilroy and Steven Melching, illustrated by Brian Koschak, and published by Dark Horse Comics on November 11, 2009.[4]

As the name "Clone Force 99" is used in Hyperspace Stories 10, the issue must take place after the Battle of Kamino. The story is also set during the Clone Wars, which ends in 19 BBY according to Timelines. As such, Hyperspace Stories 10 must be set between 21 BBY and 19 BBY.
