Tokursh was a region on the planet Mandalore,[1] the Mandalorian's cultural homeworld in the Outer Rim Territories of the galaxy.[2] The area was rich in unmined beskar iron ore, a fact that caught the attention of the Galactic Empire soon after its foundation. The Imperial government offered the Mandalorian clans and the MandalMotors company a contract worth eight million credits, for the exclusive rights to mine the Tokursh region.[1]
Behind the scenes
Edit
The Tokursh region first appeared in Star Wars canon in the 2009 novel, Imperial Commando: 501st by author Karen Traviss.
Tokursh's name appears to be derived from the Mando'a language, specifically the word to'kursh, meaning "orchard".[3]
