- "Tomer Darpen. Don't give me that look—he can fly."
"Yeah, he'll fly off to sell his T-65 for a crate of spice. How many times did we spot him doing shady stuff back in the day?" - ―Wedge Antilles and Wes Janson
Tomer Darpen was a male pilot in the Alliance to Restore the Republic who had a reputation for his shady actions. Despite his reputation, Darpen was recruited by Commander Wedge Antilles into the reformed Red Squadron after the Battle of Hoth, although Janson was not excited about his selection, saying he would become a spicerunner or a pirate within five years. Later, Janson expressed his certainty that Darpen was running a smuggling ring from his simulator, which Antilles recalled but declined to mention when meeting with The Contessa. He was assigned the callsign Red Seven and flew a T-65B X-wing starfighter as Antilles' wingman, alongside Sila Kott, in an attack on a nearby pirate base, that threatened the safety of the Alliance's rendezvous point.[2]

Notes and references[]
- ↑ Star Wars: Timelines dates the events of Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi, which includes the Battle of Endor, to 4 ABY. Since Tomer Darpen was mentioned among the casualties of the battle in the short story "When Fire Marked the Sky", he must've died in 4 ABY.
