Tomo's mother was a female Ithorian in Mos Espa during 32 BBY who was Force-sensitive, and thus she recognized Qui-Gon Jinn as a Jedi Master. She asked him to rescue her son from Captain Neg and rewarded him with a repulse booster when he did so. She later bid him, "May the Force be with you," when he left Mos Espa.
