Trantor was a Galactic Core world and an ecumenopolis. It was the homeworld of Trantor pigeons. The Trantor Center was possibly named after it.

In Isaac Asimov's Foundation series, Trantor is the city-covered capital of a Galactic Empire. It is speculated that Asimov's Trantor was one of the inspirations for Coruscant.
Terminus also shares a name with a planet in Asimov's novels.
