Triad of Evil

The Triad of Evil. From left to right: Felucia, Mygeeto, and Saleucami.

The Triad of Evil was a term given by Supreme Chancellor Palpatine referring to Felucia, Mygeeto, and Saleucami—three of the most valuable Separatist worlds. Each of the planets was an important part of the Confederacy of Independent Systems: Felucia housed the headquarters of the Commerce Guild, Mygeeto possessed important crystal mines and vaults managed by the InterGalactic Banking Clan, and Saleucami was home to the Confederacy's newly developed underground cloning facilities. Around 19 BBY, Palpatine, claiming the war was nearly won, sent half of Coruscant's defense fleet to besiege these systems in an attempt to cripple the Separatist economy and disable their production facilities. As Darth Sidious, however, he simultaneously ordered General Grievous to stage a large-scale Confederate assault on Coruscant, taking advantage of the planet's weakened defenses and culminating in his own abduction.

[edit] Behind the scenes

The term "Triad of Evil" is believed to be based on Axis of Evil, a moniker that George W. Bush employed in his 2002 State of the Union address to refer to North Korea, Iraq, and Iran.
