"Ahsoka Tano. You have been charged with sedition against the Jedi Order and the Republic itself. This court will decide your fate."
―Chancellor Palpatine's opening statement at the trial's start[src]

Former Jedi Padawan Ahsoka Tano was put on trial in 19.1 BBY after she was framed for and charged with the bombing of the Jedi Temple Hangar and the murder of Letta Turmond and several clone troopers. Supreme Chancellor Palpatine and Admiral Tarkin presided over the trial.

Prelude

"The Senate believes that an internal Jedi trial would seem biased. Therefore, the Senate asks that the Council expel Ahsoka Tano from the Jedi Order so that she may be put to a Republic military tribunal, where she will receive more impartial judgment."
―Admiral Tarkin[src]

When Ahsoka was arrested for the bombing of the Jedi Temple and for killing clones and Letta Turmond, she was held at the Jedi Temple. Admiral Tarkin contacted the Jedi Council and relayed the wished of the Senate — that Tano be expelled from the Jedi Order so that she could be tried by a military court. Following her meeting before the Jedi High Council, she was expelled from the Jedi Order and imprisoned by Republic Military.

The trial

"A Jedi may be responsible for the murder, but that Jedi is not Ahsoka Tano. Members of the court, you are prosecuting the wrong Jedi."
"Well said, Senator Amidala. However, if she is innocent, then why was she seen conspiring with known Separatist terrorist Asajj Ventress?
"
―Senator Amidala and Admiral Tarkin[src]
Tano Trial

Chancellor Palpatine presided over the proceedings

The trial was held in 20 BBY in the Galactic Senate Court Chamber. Supreme Chancellor Palpatine presided over the proceedings. Ahsoka was escorted to a floating platform where she was then moved to the center of the hall. On either side, senators, who were serving as the jury, were seated in rows of ten or twelve. The Jedi High Council sat in another row above the Senators.

On the left side of Ahsoka, the prosecution was situated, with the lead prosecutor being Admiral Tarkin, who vowed to ensure Ahsoka's conviction and punishment to the fullest extent of Republic law-death. On the right side was the defense, represented by Padmé Amidala. Admiral Tarkin began the presentation, discussing facts which made Ahsoka seem clearly guilty. Ahsoka continued to argue in her defense, attempting to explain the story, while Padmé also continued to provide reasons to believe she was being framed. However, Tarkin was stubbornly unconvinced.

Meanwhile, Anakin had just engaged in a duel with Barriss Offee, who had been the real perpetrator behind the attacks. Palpatine was about to read the verdict when Anakin and the Jedi Temple Guards burst in with Barriss Offee. Barriss confessed her crimes and angrily blamed the Jedi for serving the dark side of the Force by fighting in the Clone Wars. Palpatine ordered that Offee be taken away, and charges against Tano were dropped.

Aftermath

"I know you believe in me, Anakin, and I'm grateful for that. But this isn't about you. I can't stay here any longer, not now."
―Ahsoka Tano[src]

Tano leaves the Jedi Order

The Jedi Council apologized for their actions to Ahsoka and asked her to rejoin the Order, but she declined and left. Anakin followed her outside the Temple, and asked her to reconsider, noting that the idea of leaving the Jedi Order is something he himself has struggled with. She replied that she knew, but stated that this was something she must work through on her own.
